If God was to go on the vacation, the world would suffer.

I do not mean we would all perish terribly in a fiery doomsday scenario, but rather that the inhabitants of Earth would notice.

God would never go on “vacation” because His love for us is too great. He cares for us and would never abandon His children. After all, we are His and He is like a loving parent without all the human fallacies. He never tires, never  is bored by humanities mysterious ways, and would certainly never leave us alone.

However, if God were to go on vacation, humanity would not be nearly as comfortable. Whereas God would never consider going away, people go on vacation from God all the time. They choose to ignore Him and pretend He is not there. Without God, there would be no assurance, there would be hope, no faith in anything (not even yourself). There would be no blessings; only missed opportunities. No fortunate coincidences; only bad luck. All good things flow from Him.

At this point you may think I am a bible-thumper. I assure you, I am not. Please, hear me out.

The world would be bitter, broken and feeling even more forgotten and ignored. If there is no faith in anything, how can anyone survive? Since when has someone been strong enough to conquer hardships without some ‘blind faith’? Since when has anything great been accomplished and been attributed to only one person?

I believe God makes those things happen. Without God, it would all feel very empty. In fact, people would not strive for such things. The ‘greater good’ would be nonexistent. People would only aspire to achieve their own ambitions. Once those tasks are accomplished, there would be a void. That void would be there forever without God. The only solution would be to continue working harder and harder to fill that void of ambition by doing acts to gratify his or her's existence. Soon, such a person would die; feeling as if nothing at all had been done. Pleasure in life comes from God.

Now, I think it is important for you to understand my concept of God. God is not the god of Christians. God is the god of all religions. He is a being of completeness. He is omniscient, omnipresent, and omnipotent. All people can tap into his love. Anyone can call him Father (or Mother if you choose). God is a protector and as a guardian, He is always there for his Chosen Ones (humanity and all Earth’s creatures).

The Earth would still spin, the grass would still grow, water would still flow but other than the process of daily life the world would be directionless. Everything would be without purpose. Nothing would have meaning. Humanity would grow weak seeking human ambitions. Animals would forget the purpose of instinct. Life would droop and eventually – and I mean thousands of years – it would fade.

Thankfully, vacations are usually a limited period of two weeks to two months. God would return to repair what was loss (and I believe the world would be eternally grateful). Humanity would not realize how awesome God is until He left. It’s the little things that God controls - as well as the great big ones - which make the difference. Without Him, life would really suck.

This is my opinion. I look forward to hearing what you have to say on the topic.

That really stands out to me. I think this is really insightful. Very sincere and heartfelt. I like it, and I fail to see how anyone could not find some grain of truth that resonates with something inside of them in what you wrote.

All seriousness aside (so your head doesn't get too big from all the compliments ;p ): where would God go on vacation?

I disagree, in truth, with most of the arguments and points - with the notable exception of:

"God is not the God of Christians. God is the god of all religions. He is a being of completeness. He is omniscient, omnipresent, and omnipotent".

If God exists, then I'd wholly agree with that one paragraph, but no more.

I'm a follower of logic and philosophy. A firm believer in the potential of humanity and the strength of the human spirit.

Oh I dunno. I've already seen proof that you're a very smart, articulate and thoughtful chap.

I respect your individuality, your humanity and views - even if I don't agree with them.

Ah, good. I almost lost faith in you.

I enjoy people that can see beyond opinions. Even I disagree, I can still see insight. It may not be my perspective but I can admire the presentation.

Glad I am not alone.

I bet everyone else wrote about God on Vacation, and you wrote about the world falling apart when he was gone.

This is really cool, I really enjoyed reading it.

ps, I think it would do you come good to invest in editing before posting, because a few of your words are a bit out of place or mispelled. They're mostly easy fixes and there aren't too many of them.
