The Voice

When you read
          late nights in your bed.
Who do you hear?
          Who is the voice in your head?

For me, it is your own;
          that haunting tone
The never ceases to be mourning.
It is bad to love
          something so sad?
You'd think they'd give fair warning.

When you sleep
          all night in your bed.
I hope you dream.
          I hope you hear me in your head.
